We are preparing for the next step of characters in Skyline. With the development of new Character controller scripts and a new ease of setup editor in development. Its still early development but it will make setting up a character/Npc soo easy. ;)

We are looking at making some of these new editors more game like in their design to make them less techy and intimidating to new users and hope they will be more fun to have. This design idea is only for high level editors as the standard low level game dev tools will stay with the Skyline theme.

:o This will be a great addition as it is one thing all other engines lack some don't even have any AI even examples lol

I have just completed the first reusable script and setup plugin script. These will be added to the editor but for now you can use them manually, to so just do the following:

Add a character to your scene, setup its animation mapping then with it selected do the following:

1) run the plug-in ( main menu ) script from the folder - Editor Plugin Script/Plugin_Character_Player_Melee.lua

2) then add the external script to your character from the folder - Entity External Script/Character_Player_Melee.lua

Once the external script is active you can then set the user dynamic properties so that all anims and sounds work as you would like them to.

Thanks Starfire works great however i have noticed when saving your level the character loses the script well its attached but does nothing you need to attach again and set up the values again anyway here it is working

Ah that good, phew! :roll:

Just added a global animation time setting to stop the anims from running to fast/slow

excellent :D

if you adjust the dynamic properties for attack anim length and attack sound delay you will be able to get all of the attack sounds to match the anims. ;)

Player Meleehttp://www.chi-ad.com/Skyline/Temp/ai/Character%20Player%20-%20Melee.zip
NPC Zombiehttp://www.chi-ad.com/Skyline/Temp/ai/NPC%20Zombie.zip this has two external scripts if you want to use the FPS player choose the FPS_Zombie script.

Ah and you will need an updated fps player, this has a few tweaks to enable combat with zombies.
FPS Player Preset:
http://www.chi-ad.com/Skyline/Temp/ai/FPS%20Kit%20Player.zip drop this into your Asset Library/Presets/Skyline Game Systems/FPS System/FPS Kit folder and over write the one that is there.

Make sure you tweak the entities user dynamic properties to get the attacks, damage, timings and movement how you would like them.
